Journey to Ireland for a truly authentic Catholic pilgrimage as we walk in the footsteps of St. Patrick and explore the strong historic resonance of "the Land of Saints and Scholars."
Encounter our Lord through the beauty of the Irish countryside, the hundreds of ruined castles and abbeys, the spiritual bouquet found in the many churches including Knock Shrine, and of course through the joy of Irish music, food, and drink!
After breakfast and hotel check-out, we will have our morning Mass at the Knock Shrine. Next, we will board our bus and make our way through the breathtaking Connemara National Park with its scenic mountains, bogs, grasslands, and woodlands. This rural place has a strong association with Irish nature and wildlife. We will visit the viewpoint and stop for lunch along the way. Watch for the pure-bred Connemara ponies in some fields and pastures as we pass on our way to Galway, the childhood hometown of Fr. Ó Madagáin. After a guided tour of the city center, we will enjoy a free evening with dinner on our own to explore dining options that include pub fare and fresh seafood. Overnight in Galway. (B)
