Itinerary

Day 1 ~ Saturday, September 25
Depart the USA today on board your overnight transatlantic jet flight to Rome, arriving the following day. Enjoy a full meal service as well as in-flight entertainment such as movies, music, etc.
Day 2 ~ Sunday, September 26
Your spiritual pilgrimage begins with your arrival in Rome. After arriving at our guesthouse, we will prayerfully start our pilgrimage with the Holy Father during his Sunday Angelus. After lunch we will have a brief orientation meeting and time to freshen up. We will conclude the evening by joining Deacon-elect Tom for Mass at the Pontifical North American College.
Day 3 ~ Monday, September 27
After breakfast with the Sisters, we will spend our morning exploring St. Mary Major (Mass with Fr. Christian), St. John Lateran, and a chance to ascend the Holy Steps. Following lunch, we will take the Scavi Tour (reservations allowing) visiting the necropolis of St. Peter's Basilica ending with the prayerful veneration of the bones of St. Peter.
Day 4 ~ Tuesday, September 28
After breakfast, we will head to the Church of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem for Mass with Fr. Christian and make our way to explore the Basilica of St. Clement. Following lunch, we will spend the entire afternoon on a guided tour of the Vaticans Museums, Vatican Gardens, and the Sistine Chapel.
Day 5 ~ Wednesday, September 29
After an early Mass and breakfast, we will head to Vatican City to participate in the Papal Audience. The afternoon is then free to shop, eat, rest, and explore the beauties of Rome. We will join back together in the late afternoon to pray Evening Prayer with Deacon-elect Tom and the rest of his class at the Church of Jesus.
Day 6 ~ Thursday, September 30
On this day, we will have the extraordinary opportunity to participate in the Diaconate Ordination Mass of Deacon-elect Tom at St. Peter's Basilica. After the Ordination Mass at St. Peter's, we will join the community for a Reception at the Pontifical North American College. After a free afternoon, we will meet together and join Dcn. Tom for a private Dinner/Reception.
Day 7 ~ Friday, October 1
After breakfast, we will make our way to the Catacombs of St. Callixtus for a guided tour followed by Deacon Tom's first Mass within the Catacomb. After saying our goodbyes to Dcn. Tom, we will make our way to visit the fourth and final Major Basilica: St. Paul Outside the Walls. We will end the evening with a breathtaking train ride as we journey though the Italian countryside on our way to our weekend retreat in Assisi.
Day 8 ~ Saturday, October 2
As we awake to the beauty of Assisi, we will have an optional early morning hike up to the Cave of St. Francis.  After breakfast, we will have the opportunity to visit the Basilica of St. Clare (where we will pray in front of the San Damiano Crucifix of St. Francis). Finally, we will make our way up the hill towards the Basilica of St. Francis where we will celebrate Mass in a private chapel. The afternoon is scheduled free time to explore the historical city, have lunch, and maybe even a bit of shopping.
Day 9 ~ Sunday, October 3
After breakfast, we will check out of our hotel and make our way to the breathtaking Santa Maria degli Angeli  (which houses St. Francis' Portiuncula) for Mass. After lunch, we will board our train back to Rome where we will spend our final free evening prior to our return home.
DAY 10 ~ Monday, OCTOBER 4
With vivid memories of Rome and Assisi, we will transfer to the airport and board the return flight back to the USA, arriving the same day.
